The Sturdy Copper Exercise Frame

I came up with one of the most brilliant ideas while watching an infomercial. The infomercial was about one of those home exercise devices that lets people do pull ups while standing in their door frame. I thought an even better idea would be to make something like that, but as a full frame, rather than something that fits in a door. I wanted to know how much is a pound of copper worth because I wanted to make entire frame out of copper. Copper can be malleable and strong when given the right amount of support, and it would need good support to handle my full body weight while doing pull ups and other exercises.

I made some blueprints and did some calculations to get the right dimensions for the copper pieces I would need to build the exercise frame. I needed to buy just enough copper to make the frame, and a little extra just in case I messed up along the way. I found a place that gives out copper for pretty good prices, and bought some pipes to make the frame. Whenever I want to do metal work, I use my garage because I have a special location set up in it for doing projects.

Putting the frame together was pretty easy. All I had to do was connect the pipes together and use joints to form right angles. I made special holes in the copper so that I could put pegs into them to hold the frame together. I chose frames over just welding the pipe together because I wanted to be able to fold the frame down and slide it under my bed when I’m not using it. The one thing I hate about exercise equipment is that sometimes it can take up a lot of space in your home.
